about us
We are the Suit system, a traumagenic system of dissociative identities with amnesia. Roughly twenty of us share the same headspace and each of us experiences selective, dissociative, and emotional amnesia. We are bodily an adult, and every alter in our system is an adult. Our pronoun usage is dependent on the relevant social environment but are the collective-plural 'we', the singular our/ourself (as opposed to 'our/ourselves'), and plural they/them pronouns. Although each alter also has their own set of preferred pronouns, they/them and it/its pronouns in reference to us as a collective system are perfectly acceptable!
our boundaries
We share publicly only that which we are, collectively or individually, comfortable with sharing. If you are curious about any particular alter's creative works, are interested in communicating with us one-on-one, or are perhaps a fellow system, yourself, with questions about plurality and plural experience, please feel free to reach out to us.We cannot guarantee that we will have answers you might be seeking but you are still welcome to make contact.
a note on labels
This system is collectively anti-psychiatry and we avoid using diagnostic labels for ourself whenever possible. Instead of identifying with our professional diagnosis of 'dissociative identity disorder', we identify as 'a traumagenic system of dissociative identities with amnesia' to be as descriptive as possible about our experiences of structured dissociation, plurality, and systemhood. As an anti-psychiatry, pro- mad liberation, psych abolitionist psychiatric survivor, this system is, additionally, an ally to endogenic, mixed-origin, borderline, psychotic, spiritual, and all other non-traumagenic systems; psychiatrists, singlet or otherwise, cannot be trusted to grasp the vast and nuanced experiences of all plurality. It is, therefore, irresponsible to subscribe to or support sysmedicalist ideology. We owe it to each other to be one another's allies and comrades against institutions which seek to divide and define us into a corner by categorizing us using arbitrary diagnostic criteria.
